This release contains components for: 1a) Intel_EMGD.WIN7_PC_Version_36_15_0_1207 contains Intel(R) HD Graphics, Intel(R) Display Audio Driver for Windows* 7/Windows Embedded Standard* 7 32-bit (x86), and Intel(R) Media SDK. -OR- 1b) Intel_EMGD.WIN7_PC_Version_37_15_0_1207 contains Intel(R) HD Graphics, Intel(R) Display Audio Driver for Windows* 7/Windows Embedded Standard* 7 64-bit, and Intel(R) Media SDK. 2) Readme.txt (this file) 3) VBIOS and BMP (BIOS Modification Program) are required for Windows* 7/Windows Embedded Standard* 7 to customize the VBIOS The VBIOS and BMP can be obtained from VIP. Supported SoC ============= Target system must contain one of the following Intel SoC: - Intel(R) Atom(TM) Processor E3800 Product Family/ Intel(R) Celeron(R) Processor N2807/N2930/J1900 (formerly Baytrail) Please check with your system provider to determine the Intel Processor/Chipset used in your system. Supported Operating Systems =========================== This version of driver supports the following OS or distributions: - Microsoft* Windows* 7 Professional - Microsoft* Windows* 7 Ultimate - Microsoft* Windows Embedded Standard* 7 IMPORTANT: Features/ Limitations ================================ This release contains the following features / resolved issues / limitations / known issues. Please report any sightings via the Intel Premier Support system. Features: ========= New in this release: -------------------- - Resolves operational issues for enhanced stability: o Includes all updates from previous build release 1127 o Resolves possible TDR issue during extensive BurnIn* application testing. o DP Audio operational issues resolved especially with hotplug. o Resolve dual mode to clone mode set blanking/flashing issue. o Build/packaging issues with HD Audio Driver are resolved. o Intel signing issue resolved (Microsoft cert update) Existing Features: ------------------ - Intel(R) EMGD driver Supports 32-bit and 64-bit Windows* 7/Windows Embedded Standard* 7 operating system - The driver has the capability to support a wide range of display resolutions. 640x480@60Hz is the minimum resolution supported and 2560X1600X24bpp@60Hz is the maximum resolution supported on CRT/VGA, DP and eDP displays. 1920x1200x24bpp@60Hz is the maximum resolution on a HDMI Display - Supports single, Clone and Extended display modes. - Supports display rotation (0, 90, 180, or 270 degrees). - Transparent blend. - Rendered Scaling Display. - HDCP version 1.3 - DirectX 9.x/10.X/11 - 2D, D3D and OpenGL 1.x/2.x/3.x/4.0 - Full video decode capability for H.264, VC-1, MPEG2, MVC and VP8 - Processing Amplifier - Post Processing features like sharpness enhancement, advanced De-interlacing, skin tone detection and enhancement - HD Audio - MediaSDK is supported which offers a custom framework to do Video Encode Please refer to the Technical Product Specification (TPS) for more details on supported features. The Technical Product Specification can be obtained from IBL/CDI. Limitations: ============= - Driver does not have Microsoft* WHQL certification which is not required for embedded applications. The driver is Intel signed and if the security certificates are up to date, it will install without warnings. Please see "known Issues" for details. - It is recommended to implement eDP on DDI1 as is done the Bayley Bay and Bakers Port CRBs as eDP on DDI0 has not been validated. - It is recommended to use an ACTIVE dongle for any DisplayPort to other display conversion (eg. DP to DVI or VGA). Passive dongles may work with proper video firmware driver configuration but can cause random issues especially with audio handling as well as hotplug use. Please see "known Issues" for details. - For Screen Rotation, it is recommended to use the Intel provided interfaces- Intel CUI or Hot-Keys, as they are known to function properly. Using the Microsoft "Graphics Options" capability may not function properly. Please contact Microsoft for help with their provided interfaces. - Content protection for Blu-ray* playback is not supported and is not planned. - Intel(R) EMGD has no S3 Texture Compression, though it will use similar compression available as documented in the O/S API. Known Issues: ============= - Hotplug with port configured for "Integrated DisplayPort Only" (via BMP) may not function fully with certain system configurations. Issue is thought to be caused by particular system (BIOS/AHCP/hardware) configurations. WORKAROUND: Please set the port in BMP tool to "Integrated DisplayPort with HDMI/DVI compatibility" if you experience this issue. This should resolve MOST issues with active and passive dongles. - Intel Audio Driver installation may fail in certain situations. In this situation it is likely you will see a Microsoft HD Audio driver rather than the Intel Audio Driver in the control panel Device Manager. WORKAROUND: In this situation, manually update the driver via the "Have disk" process in the Audio folder of the install files. - During Windows installation, there is a possibility for the driver to be incorrectly identified as unsigned. If you get a driver signing warning during install, it means your certificates are not up to date. This typically will happen if automatic updates are turned off, or a platform is not connected to the internet. FIX: The issue is easily resolved by installing the Microsoft "AddTrust" Certificate once. The "rootsupd.exe" executable utility can be obtained from the following link: http://download.windowsupdate.com/msdownload/update/v3/static/trustedr/en/rootsupd.exe Installation is accomplished by running the utility and clicking through approval. You may additionally need to "Trust content from Intel" at least once. Getting Started =============== Please follow each dedicated OS section for the installation instructions. Installation and Uninstallation ================================ For more explanation, please see the User Guide for detailed installation explanations.
